Pipistrel on CNN: the Future of Green Aviation – one Aircraft at a Time
Tine Tomažič, Chief Technical Officer at Pipistrel, presented the Velis Electro in a CNN feature as “the first device of its kind anywhere, anytime”. Tomažič spoke about its ability to travel seamlessly on electric power: “It flies on battery power alone, so it produces no emissions”. When no one believed that electric aviation was possible, Pipistrel took on the challenge. Now, they hope to continue developing and inspiring the future of green aviation, one aircraft at a time.
“Velis Electro is already training a generation of pilots who will operate these large green aviation products in the future,” added Tine Tomažič. “Not only does it represent a change in the technology used in training, but it is certainly also changing the mindset of future pilots who will inevitably want to fly cleaner, electrified aircraft as part of their piloting careers.”
