14th Regular Session of the GIZ-GOIS Assembly

On Thursday, 8. September 8, 2022, the 14th regular session of the GIZ-GOIS assembly took place, attended by 42 company representatives. At the opening of the session, Željko Kralj, MSc, Acting Director of the Directorate for Logistics at the Ministry of Defence, also greeted the attendees and presented the ministry’s strategic guidelines for the development of the Slovenian defence industry. Among other matters, the assembly elected a new composition of the supervisory board for the 2022-2024 term, consisting of 5 members, namely:
• Matej Miklavčič, Armas
• Marjan Molek, Izop-K
• David Sodnik, Valter Group
• Boštjan Marolt, Prevent&Deloza
• Maja Markovič, Trimpeks

The members will elect a chairman among themselves at the first meeting of the new supervisory board composition. We sincerely congratulate all of them! We also sincerely thank the founders of GOIS and long-standing members of the supervisory board Ivan Kralj, Arex, Janez Bijol, Bijol, Stane Plaskan, Dat-Con, as well as Tomaž Habinc, Group22 and Prof. Dr. Miha Boltežar from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Ljubljana for their successful, persistent, and diligent performance of the supervisory function.

The Defence Industry Cluster of Slovenia currently has 48 members offering a wide range of products and services in the fields of defence, security, and protection. GOIS members are exceptionally research and development-oriented and shape the development of the Slovenian defence sector with their innovative high-tech solutions. They are also active internationally and involved in NATO, ESA, EDA, and other initiatives at the European level in the fields of defence, dual-use, and high technologies. The total annual operating revenue of the members amounts to more than 742 million euros, of which 63 percent comes from exports. They collectively employ almost 3,000 people. The added value per employee is 76,380 euros, which is 44 percent higher than the Slovenian average.
