The IDEX defense industry exhibition and NAVDEX naval defense and maritime security exhibition are currently taking place in Abu Dhabi, with more than 1,350 companies from 65 countries participating. The event represents the central defense and security event in the entire Middle East and North Africa region, and it also features seven Slovenian companies, GOIS members, and two institutions – the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Slovenia and the Slovenian Defense Industry Cluster.

This year’s event addresses strategic and key industry topics – constant changes and transformation of the security concept, human resource development, the impact of emerging technologies on modern operations and the future of warfare, and associated risks. For 30 years, IDEX has been attracting an increasing number of international decision-makers from the defense industry and key government representatives, armed forces, and key military personnel. Due to the strong representation of GCC and MENA countries, as well as other exhibitors from around the world, IDEX is the best platform for reaching such an important audience. The Slovenian stand, under the auspices of the SPIRIT Slovenia agency with the support of the Ministry of Economy, Tourism and Sport together with the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Slovenia, is exceptionally well-visited. Seven Slovenian companies are presenting their top-quality products and solutions for the defense and security industry with the latest technology in the field of land, naval, and air defense.

The Slovenian companies were also visited by the Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to Abu Dhabi, Natalia Al Mansour. GOIS is represented at the exhibition by Marjan Molek, Vice President of the Supervisory Board, who has met with many decision-makers and representatives of other defense associations to establish closer future contacts between countries in the field of defense and security.
