Upcoming events: two workshops on preparing for EDF/EDIP/EUDIS calls for proposals
As part of our project preparation activities, we are organizing two follow-up workshops aimed at preparing for EDF/EDIP/EUDIS calls (deadline: February 2027) and further developing our two consortium projects—IronShield 360 and BioGuardian.
We believe this is an exceptionally important and excellent opportunity for all participating organizations to actively engage in forming a strong Slovenian consortium and to co-create projects with high development and market potential.

Workshop #2A · IronShield 360
IronShield 360 represents a shift from individual drones, radars, and jammers to a unified, modular European system for protecting military bases and critical infrastructure against drones.
Collaborative work during the workshop will enable:
- alignment of the unified Slovenian project concept, integrating the key competencies of GIZ GOIS members
- preparation of a clear and competitive “pitch pack” (one-pager + list of potential international partners))
- agreement on concrete steps for the most successful possible participation in European consortium platforms and EDF matchmaking events
About the call: EDF-EDIP-USI-2027-LS-IRA-CUXS and EDF-2027-EUDIS-SME – funding for the development of unmanned and counter-drone systems and the strengthening of industrial production in the EU. Focus on modularity, real-time edge-AI threat detection, and a European (ITAR-free) supply chain.
Workshop #2B · BioGuardian
BioGuardian transforms passive protective equipment into an active, smart system for soldier protection.
Collaborative work during the workshop will enable:
- alignment of the unified Slovenian project concept, integrating the key competencies of GIZ GOIS members
- preparation of a clear and competitive “pitch pack” (one-pager + list of potential international partners))
- agreement on concrete steps for the most successful possible participation in European consortium platforms and EDF matchmaking events
About the call:
EDF-2027-DA-MATCOMP/SOLDIER – development of next-generation soldier systems (advanced materials, smart textiles, sensor technology); EDF-2027-EUDIS-SME for dual-use solutions. Focus on the integration of sensors, edge AI, and predictive analytics (soldier digital twin), ready for NATO integration.
