On Friday, July 3, 2026, members and partners of GIZ-GOIS, g.i.z. gathered at the Park of Military History in Pivka, creating a day that combined professional content, networking, and unforgettable experiences.

Professional section: from strategy to concrete opportunities

The event was opened by Boštjan Skalar (GIZ-GOIS, g.i.z.), who presented a strategic vision for the cluster’s future, and Janko Boštjančič, Director of the Park of Military History, who welcomed the participants to the unique setting of Slovenia’s largest museum complex.

Next came presentations by Ajda Vodlan (Ministry of Defence) and Tomaž Vidonja (ELVI d.o.o.), who highlighted opportunities for collaboration in European Defence Fund (EDF) projects and outlined concrete possibilities for the involvement of Slovenian industry.

The highlight of the professional session was a moderated interaction with GOIS 4.0 members titled “From Vision to Execution,” during which participants actively helped shape the direction for the cluster’s future development. The session concluded with closing remarks from Boštjan Marolt (FireCat Group d.o.o.), Chairman of the Supervisory Board of GIZ-GOIS.

When history transforms into an experience

After a shared lunch, the participants explored the rich offerings of the Park of Military History: guided tours of the exhibitions, access to the P-913 Zeta submarine and the P-111 police boat, a MiG-21 simulator flight for the bravest among them, and a guided wine tasting in the cellar—a relaxed end to the day spent in good company and engaging conversation.
