Resilience Day Austria-Slovenia 2026: GOIS on the path to the first Slovenian victory at the EUDIS Hackathon

The “Resilience Day Austria-Slovenia 2026” event took place in Klagenfurt, where representatives from Austrian and Slovenian institutions presented current security and defense challenges facing Europe and the broader international arena. Slovenia was represented by Mr. Boštjan Marolt, Chairman of the GOIS Supervisory Board, and Ms. Ajda Vodlan, a representative of the Slovenian Ministry of Defence.
Experiences from Ukraine as a starting point for new solutions
The central theme of the discussions was the development of advanced technologies and defense solutions derived from actual operational experience and the needs of modern armed forces—particularly in light of insights gained from the war in Ukraine. Special attention was also paid to strengthening cooperation among companies, research organizations, and government institutions from Austria and Slovenia.
Among the presentations, the announcement of the EUDIS Hackathon—an initiative under the European Defence Fund (EDF) organized by Austria in cooperation with the Slovenian Ministry of Defence—attracted particular attention.
EUDIS hackathon 2026: Autonomy on the Battlefield
The hackathon will take place from October 15 to 17 at multiple locations across Europe, including Klagenfurt. This year’s theme, “Autonomy on the Battlefield,” addresses three key challenges for future defense solutions:
